SO, WHAT'S WITH THE FEATHER?
Well, if you really want to dive into the history of the name Fletcher, it is a surname of English origin. The name is an occupational name for an arrowsmith or seller of arrows, derived from the Middle English, Old English "Fulcher" or Old French flech(i)er (in turn from Old French fleche "arrow").
Fletching is the fin-shaped aerodynamic stabilization device attached on arrows, crossbow bolts or darts, typically made from light, semi-flexible materials such as feathers. Each piece of such fin is a fletch, also known as a flight or feather.
PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN
...is usually what I say to those I'm capturing footage of.
Hi. I'm Stephanie. Owner/videographer/editor of Fletcher Media, Wisconsinite, feminist, artist, traveler, and obsessor of dogs.
Thanks for visiting my website!
As mentioned on my homepage, I'm just someone who is living out a family name and utilizing my genes and talents of working behind a camera in my every day life. I've always had a passion of capturing footage and making it into a story. I attended the University of Wisconsin - Madison, finishing with a degree of Communications Arts with a focus in radio, film, and TV. Thankfully, I was able to utilize my degree right after graduation working for the late Red Arrow Production, start capturing footage, and turn that footage into a story. I have to thank Red Arrow for a great 5 years of experience! I discovered one of my passions through them - filming weddings. Hence why Fletcher Media was born (December 2019).
For those of you who are just joining me on this new journey - this is not my full time job but another way I can fulfill my creative passion behind a camera and working with others on one of the happiest days of their lives. Full time, you can find me as a “Leslie Knope-type” working for local government as a Director of Communications and Technology.
Whether you're a bride, groom, or couple looking to have their special day captured, let's chat. I'd love to know your vision and help shape that into a story to last for decades to come.
